Artist of the Week : Alonefold (AU)
Scott Beardow aka Alonefold is a composer located in Canberra, Australia. Working as an audio programmer in the day he indulges in audio experiments at night. Like many ambient artists there are hidden themes here, layers of sounds deep in the mix collected from over 8 years of sound design and composition. Using only a few hardware synths, an analog mixer and an effects unit he attempts to build the kind of textures that remind one of places of solitude and beauty.
,, I sat and listened, fascinated. For more than an hour I listened to the concert, to this natural melody. It was soft music, containing, as well, all the discords of nature. And that was right, for nature is not only harmonious; she is also dreadfully contradictory and chaotic. The music was that way too: an outpouring of sounds, having the quality of water and wind - so strange that it is simply impossible to describe it.''

Artist of the Week : PNFA (DE)
PNFA a.k.a. Popular Nightmare Folk Art has been a landmark in the world of electronic music since the first self distributed release "The Urban Music Box" in 1996. Wolfram Gruss the mastermind behind PNFA however already started at the age of nine to become obsessed with making electronic music on his own, which is why he composed sounds and samples already in the nursery with his Commodore Amiga 500, that he got for pocket money savings. Obstinated (legal) child labor over years enabled him to have his first little representable basement studio ready by the age of 15 which is also when PNFA was founded. Ever since PNFA serves DJs and a tremendously growing listenership with an exquisite fusion menu including i.e. a little bit of jazzy licks as appetizer, a violently deep distorted bassline as entree and a fine light drum'n'bass or house beat as desert. So far 10 albums, uncountable remixes and collaborations, a bunch of EPs and a whole lot of apperances on compilations of labels all over the world were published while PNFA also pleases the dancing crowds with electrifying live sets.

Artist of the Week : Sad Radio On Cassini (RU)
Dmitri Ivanov (aka) Sad Radio On Cassini is a Russian artist from Saint Petersburg.'Sad radio on Cassini' takes is origin from a sample of the NASA website used in his eponymous track. The main purpose of his project is to share his emotions. According to him, each track consists of a mixture of the atmosphere, space, loneliness, relationships and memories. As he says 'every track represent something I miss, or tell different stories from my life'. To sum up, Sad radio On Cassini could be seen as a musical diary and collection of his thoughts.

Born in 1970 in Bonn, GECO began his musical career with YAMAHA Instruments GmbH in 1980. As a pianist, composer and songwriter, he achieved international chart-positions with various titles and performers. Furthermore he produced jingles for industry and TV. His passion for chillout was enhanced by personal collaboration with Carlos Peron, The founder and sound designer of the cult band "YELLO"
